A Big Thanks To Hunters For Conservation From The Fiordland Wapiti Foundation

Big thanks to Hunters for Conservation.

The Fiordland Wapiti and the Wapiti Foundation have started the Herd of Special Interest (HOSI) journey.

Job done!  Sadley no! The job has just beginning.

The significant effort required to reach this stage is often overlooked or misunderstood by many individuals.  For the Wapiti Foundation it started 20 years ago. We could not have achieved this without the assistance of numerous individuals, to whom we are deeply grateful.  So, thank you all.

The sad fact is that we also need financial support to get this over the line.

Remembering we still have deer to manage, stoats and rats to kill. That's what led us to this point in history.  Hunters, conservationist and other individuals have step up and provided help when needed to enable us to continue this great work. Thank you all as well.

We have a long journey ahead and much to accomplish.  It’s refreshing to have other groups recognising this and their support is offered in many ways.

A few weeks ago, we had a call from Hunters for Conservation asking how can we help? At this moment, we have a vital task that need to be completed, for which we require funding.

Hunters for Conservation generously provided us with a significant amount of funding to accomplish that tasks which will help immensely with HOSI.

Long gone are the days where we can run our foundations on the smell of an oily rag.  Hunters for Conservation understand this and the roll that they are playing has certainly help us along the HOSI journey.
